Company Mission
The company mission "To manage the Port of Houston Authority's Dredge Placement sites and to maintain a close working and personal relationship with local community leaders to establish a clean, safe, and healthy environment for families and generations to come" is built on several key aspects:
Leadership: Stressing Value for Service
JSG recognizes and stresses the importance of value for service. This means implementing a practical approach to the work and the problems encountered and completing the work on schedule and within or under budget. This is all achieved by a thorough understanding of the job; the needs of the clients; and the political, environmental, and financial settings.
Environment: Improving Environmental Stewardship
A primary objective of our services is to be able to enhance the environment. Our managed sites are dried and cleared to reduce the presence of insects, rodents, and other pests. The ability to extend the useful life of sites minimizes the conversion of scarce tracts of land in urban settings, allowing for more economically productive uses such as parks and wildlife areas.
DAMP: Managing & Maintaining Confined Disposal Areas
JSG's DAMP is a coordinated set of tasks which, when regularly and consistently carried out, will maximize the capacity and extend the useful life of confined disposal areas. The DAMP ensures capacity for the United States Army Corps of Engineers in their on-going maintenance of federal navigation channels, as well as timely placement capacity for maintenance dredging of the public and private berths adjoining these waterways.
