JAMES SIMMONS, JR.
James Simmons, Jr. is President and CEO of J. Simmons Group, Inc. He developed and implemented a Disposal Area Management Program (DAMP) for the Port of Houston Authority’s disposal sites, and is responsible for all aspects of the DAMP. In addition, he leads the company’s operations, and prepares and analyzes all capital and operational fiscal project requirements, evaluates levee protection and recommended repairs, and evaluates and controls the vegetation at placement areas.
Simmons earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston, and holds an Associate in Business Administration from Wharton County Junior College. He is also a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and the Entrepreneurial Development Program Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern, Advanced Entrepreneurial. He is a member of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). He is a Board Member of the Texas Children’s Hospital Development Council and the board of director’s of the American Petroleum Institute
